Our Client

New York and Company is a premium American wear-to-work retailer for women brand. New York and Company’s apparel and accessories are sold through a nationwide network of retail stores and its e-commerce site.

Project prerequisite

The client sought for a reliable and cost-effective post-production service provider who could help them with high-quality imagery. Prepress India was approached by New York and Company for high-end fashion retouching on Models and on-figure apparels.

The client sent us specific requirements attached with their images which were:

Background removal and clipping-path
Wrinkles and folds removal on designer apparels
High-end skin and hair retouching on Models
Alignment of models
Color Correction and color-enhancement
Cropping and re-sizing according to the brand specs

Project Challenges

The batch of images sent by the client imposed some of the challenges during the project. Here are the challenges that we faced –

Some of the images sent by clients were damp, grainy and dusty.
A high-level of skin retouching was demanded by the client.
The client wanted high volume images in a consistent manner that’s brilliantly edited

What we did

The client sent images of models with other specifications attached to them in the same folder as the model images. This way editors at PPI know exactly know what all specifically needs to be retouched. The client sent their bulk images on the FTP server of Prepress India and that’s it! We took care of the process further. The images were divided amongst our retouching editors who brilliantly retouched images using various tools in Photoshop. Our editors did the following things to create natural yet embellished imagery:

With skin-retouching we removed blemishes like scars, pimples and cuts while the original texture was retained to give a natural look.
With high-end fashion retouching our team used the Liquefying Tool to shape body contours smoothly and clothes that went out of shape.
With different tools in Photoshop the noise from the images was removed and images were significantly sharpened to manifest details.
The team carefully inspected the image background, removed distractions or blemishes that persisted and for some changed the background altogether.
Minute yet significant details like flyaway hair, color enhancement, adjusting the contrast was done.

After the editors retouched the images our quality check manager ensured the quality of images and cross-checked if they matched the requirements of client. The edited images were sent in JPEG or TIFF format via Dropbox.

The client was extremely delighted by the results we delivered to them in such a short time. We helped the client achieve a higher cost-saving by without the client owning resources or the image editing tools. With improved and high-end visual content listed on their website the brand saw significant increase in conversions.
