Our Client
The client we served was Helzberg Diamonds a jewelry retailer founded in 1915 by Morris Helzberg, currently has more than 200+ stores in different states. After becoming successful in traditional marketing, they are successfully selling their jewelry masterpieces through e-commerce platform to larger audience.
Project prerequisite
The client wanted to work with a company that could flex with their needs, is cost-efficient, has an intuitive system, provide high quality image output and has a quick turnaround time. So they contacted Prepress India to get image clipping and high-end retouching done accurately on various jewelry items. The client sent 100 images that included the category of bracelets, rings, watches and necklaces and pendants. The client was particularly meticulous about consistent high-quality and wanted them edited within 24 hours.
Project Challenges
The complexity of images and product design imposed several challenges on us and some of them are as follows:
- The client was specific about ensuring consistent shine in each and every image
- The design of various jewelry items was complex in nature
- A high degree of retouching expertise was requested by the client

What we did
The client shared their raw jewelry images in TIFF format through our FTP server. The images were divided between the two categories of expertise clipping path and retouching experts, together they coordinated through an effective channel of communication and file transfer system. After creating the path of jewelry items, they were transferred to the retouching experts who edited them further in Adobe Photoshop. With high-end retouching the jewelry images were enhanced by adding gloss, shine and were given a lustrous effect. Several techniques were deployed to create eye-catching photos by adjusting the minutest details of stones, propping diamonds and also fixed various blemishes in the image and bought the jewelry to a candescent life. After the images were edited they went under the QC (quality check) after the approval they were sent to client via we transfer in JPEG format (ready to upload images on website) and TIFF format.

The clients were able to reduce their current expenditures by 40% without affecting image capacity and lead-time.
